Majorana bound states in superconductors
In the video Michael mentions that in reality the Majorana pairs cannot be placed infinitely far apart from each other. How far do you think is enough in order to achieve the goal of Majorana based quantum computing?
We want majoranas to be protected against local perturbations, therefore we need them to be spatially separated in a way that their wavefunctions do not overlap.Under the right conditions majoranas will be exponentially localized.
