Repeaters
One of the main challenges in quantum communication is to transfer a quantum state from one end to another. The idea of quantum teleportation can be further exploited to implement entanglement swap, which is merely teleportation but between two pairs (four particles). The final result is shared entanglement between two particles that were never in contact and can be far apart.
In this video, this idea of entanglement swap is implemented in a basic quantum repeater architecture.

How are a classical and a quantum repeater different? Can you imagine if there's a need for special requirements or protocols for the proper functioning of the network?
