Tasks for a Quantum Internet
Why is there so much hussle on building the quantum internet? Seems like a titanic task to persue if we already have a currently working internet... What makes it so special?
There are many tasks that have been a challenge to solve using classical information. Now, with the power of entanglement and instant correlation of measurements some of them will soon be problems of the past. This ranges from clock syncrhonization (extremely important for GPS, for instance) to completely blind cloud computation using quantum computers. All thanks to entanglement.
In this short lecture David Elkouss will briefly go through the most known applications of a quantum network such as QKD, cloud based quantum computation or solving the Byzantine agreement problem.
